It was David’s work for over 26 years as a family physician that laid the groundwork for his move into men’s ministry. Experiencing the unique needs of men in his practice and the challenges they face, he sensed a growing desire to come alongside men and help them grow. David believes that men need men in their lives to hold them accountable for spiritual formation. His sincere hope is to encourage men and engage them in teaching each other how to mature in character and faith.
Starting at Franklin and Marshall College through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, he was taught and mentored by a staff member, which established a personal model for discipling men. In medical school, it was small group experiences with fellow students that continued his interest in accountability and spiritual growth. His work with his wife and another couple as senior high youth leaders for eight years involved organizing, developing curriculum, event planning, leading and teaching about twenty five senior high students each year. Throughout this time, he has met with men individually and in small groups, giving him practical training for full-time men’s ministry.
God has used these experiences to call David out of medicine into Priority One to provide support and encouragement to men as they seek to be better fathers, husbands, neighbors, and friends.

David, and his family
Kathy and I have been married over thirty years and are blessed with three grown children, Eric (and his lovely wife Sara-Beth), Laura, and Karyn. We also have a wonderful granddaughter, Noa. And a boxer named Sierra.

I love the outdoors, especially kayaking with Kathy and biking. I can also settle for a good walk in the woods with the dog. Add travel to this, especially to the West, and I am a happy guy. Throw in a good book and a beach to read it on and now I am thrilled. Add some jazz to the experience, and I have heaven on earth. And to see the Eagles win the Superbowl, well...”hope springs eternal”.

If all this isn’t enough, I also love poetry (Luci Shaw), British writers (Lewis, Tolkein, Sayers), and humor (The Far Side, Dilbert). And art (Michelangelo, Hudson River School). And cars. And seafood. And films. And internet blogs.
